The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance. You will be reporting to Service Manager Roads and Grounds. Your working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.

The purpose of this role is to manage the day to day running of the Roads Support Team to deliver the full range of services in support of the Council as Roads Authority.

Excellent communication and organisational skills, together with extensive practical and relevant experience of working in a Roads environment, including detailed knowledge of regulations are required. In addition to relevant management experience, we are looking for a proven ability to lead and manage teams within an operational environment and an unwavering focus on excellent customer service.

You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney including the outer islands. This post requires a Level 1 Disclosure check.

Relocation package is available in line with Council Policy for this post.
