An exciting opportunity has arisen within Education, Communities and Housing to appoint a Team Manager – Sport and Leisure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management and operation of Sport and Leisure Services including the co-ordination of strategy, policy and planning across Sport and Leisure Services.
The Team Manager for Sport and Leisure is a key role for the Sport and Leisure Service that has line management responsibility of up to 15 FTE staff as well as a large range of facilities spread across a number of islands.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of budget management, line management of staff and working closely with members of the public, service users, senior managers, external agencies and elected members.
Applicants must hold a qualification at SCQF level 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship in a subject relevant to the role or have a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of the person specification.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
