Team Manager Business Support/Elections

Council Offices, Kirkwall

35 hours per week

Permanent

£48,017 - £50,919 per year

£26.31 - £27.90 per hour

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.

You will be reporting to the Service Manager (Customer and Business Support).

Your working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective operation and delivery of the business support / elections function and its day to day activities, delivering on key priorities, statutory functions and driving improvement and change.

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the Council, providing business management and operational support across several key services, School Place Caretaker services and the delivery of elections and referendums.

You will be responsible for leading and developing the team that provides support to the Office of the Chief Executive, Enterprise and Resources, Legal Services, and Performance and Business Support. You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets and resources, oversee performance and business planning activities, and ensure high standards of customer-focused service delivery.

A key part of the role is managing Electoral Services, including planning and delivering elections and referendums, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting democratic processes across Orkney.
