Glaitness Primary School is seeking suitable candidates for the vacancy of Support for Learning Assistant to work 24 hours per week, Term Time, temporarily up to 16 November 2026.

Salary: £29,148 - £29,732 / £30,389 - £31,009 pro rata (£15.97 - £16.29 / £16.64 - £16.99 per hour). The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.

As a member of the school team, you will be expected to work with pupils, colleagues, and parents. We require candidates to have experience in working with young people and to be committed to supporting, encouraging, and including all children in achieving their potential.

You should have a good general standard of education, including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy, and hold a SCQF level 5 qualification (e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in a relevant subject area) or be willing to achieve it within 3 years of taking up the post.

This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
