\n £35,553 - £38,309

£19.48 - £20.99 per hour

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.

You will be reporting to the Early Learning and Childcare Manager.
\n
Your working pattern is four days, working 9.25 hours each day (0800-1745). We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
\n
The purpose of this role is to form part of the leadership team and together take responsibility for delivering a high-quality early learning and childcare service. This service will meet the needs of, and promote the development of, young children and their families across the 0-5 nursery. You will also take particular responsibility for leading the provision in the setting for children aged 2-3 years.
\n
In July 2026, the council opened the relocated Strynd Nursery in a new purpose-built building on Burnett Brae in Kirkwall. Strynd Nursery now is registered for 51 children aged 0-5 years and provides day care services for young children as well as the statutory entitlement of Early learning and Childcare for 2-5 year olds.
\n

\n This post is a regulated role with children and requires a Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
