The predicted salary is between 16.8 - 16.8 £ per hour.

Advert Council Caretaker Council Offices 17.5 hours per week Permanent £30,060 - £30,662 pro rata £16.47 - £16.80 per hour The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance You will be reporting to the Senior Council Caretaker Your working pattern is 35 hours per week on a week on/week off basis.

The purpose of this role is to provide janitorial and security services associated with the management of the Council Offices.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, practical and reliable individual to join our team as a Council Caretaker based at the Council Offices in Kirkwall.

This varied role plays an important part in ensuring the Council Offices remain safe, secure and operational.

Duties include opening and securing the building, carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs, supporting building systems, undertaking health and safety checks, and helping to maintain a welcoming environment for staff, visitors and members of the public.

You will also assist with setting up Council meetings and events, managing deliveries and supplies, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the Council Offices.

The successful candidate will have experience of basic maintenance work, be able to work on their own initiative, and demonstrate a flexible, customer-focused approach.

Occasional evening and weekend working may be required to support Council events.
