Asset Management Surveyor

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance. This is a career grade post and salary will be linked to progression through a career development scheme.
You will be reporting to the Service Manager, Estates. Your working pattern is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The purpose of this role is to manage a diverse property portfolio across Orkney including offices, schools, commercial and community assets and advising on property utilisation, disposal and acquisitions and supporting sustainability and net zero objectives. Helping to align land and property assets with service delivery objectives, optimising usage and contributing to management strategies for the greatest benefit.
Your duties will include leading the day-to-day management of the Council’s commercial property portfolio comprising approximately 120 investment properties generating in excess of £1.8M annual rental income.
You should be able to demonstrate a full range of professional skills associated with property and asset management, with a good understanding of leases and commercial property requirements. You should have good communication skills and be able to work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
The ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service is essential.
