£30,488 – £32,605 pro rata / £16.71 – £17.87 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

An opportunity has arisen as a Finance Officer situated within the Orkney Health and Care Finance Service.

\\n

The post holder will support the Chief Finance Officer in performing the duties of the revenue accounting function. The post holder will provide Council Services with high quality financial advice, ensuring the maintenance of sound financial and accounting practice and adherence to Council procedures. The post holder will liaise with staff across a range of disciplines both within the council and external agencies, including external audit.

Applicants are required to have excellent communication skills and be able to produce written work to a high standard. This will include sound numerical and analytical skills and be familiar with computer based financial systems. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver priorities within fixed timescales.

You should hold a qualification at SCQF 5/6 i.e. SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grade, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ3, Higher National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship or have a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience as detailed in the experience section of the person specification.
