We are recruiting for an Architectural Technologist to join an established Architecture team within Infrastructure and Organisational Development.

The post is a career graded post commencing at Grade F with the opportunity to progress up to Grade H once the relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience have been obtained.

Our workload currently covers design work and contract management for our new build, refurbishment and maintenance programmes.

You should be able to demonstrate design ability, with a good understanding of construction detailing, materials specification and a working knowledge of the Scottish Building Standards. Some experience of contract administration and project management, together with an understanding of contract issues is also required, a knowledge of CDM Regulations is desirable.

To be appointed at Grade F, an SVQ 3/HNC qualification in Building/Architectural Studies, or equivalent, is essential, while appointment at Grade G or H requires a minimum of SVQ4/HND in Building/Architectural Studies or equivalent.

Grade H appointees will also require to be a full member of CIAT (MCIAT), or equivalent.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to Level 1 Disclosure Scotland clearance.
