Location: 100% Remote, UK or EU
Language: English required (EU languages a bonus)
About Us
Orkestra Technologies is a fast-growing Australian software startup revolutionising how commercial and industrial energy projects are sold, deployed, and managed. We are the market leader in ANZ, and we have successfully launched into UK and EU markets — scaling quickly as PPA companies and asset managers look for better ways to manage their growing portfolios.
Operate is our asset management platform built specifically for C&I solar and PPA operators. We solve real pain points around performance monitoring, financial reporting, and portfolio visibility — problems that compound as companies scale to hundreds of assets.
We are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to own full-cycle Operate sales across the UK and EU.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will own the complete sales cycle with the close support of our Customer Success team. This isn’t a role where you pass deals to someone else to close. You will master our prospect-to-pilot motion - closing low-entry pilots fast (under 30 days), proving value quickly, then expanding into full portfolio contracts. You will be targeting PPA companies, asset managers, and C&I solar operators with 100+ assets who need better visibility, reporting, and performance management.
This is a hunter role with account ownership. You will have SDR support and warm inbound from marketing - but you are comfortable building your own pipeline too. You own the relationship from first conversation through expansion. You will work closely with the Head of Growth to refine strategy, targeting, and positioning. You will have direct input into product roadmap priorities based on what you are hearing in the market.
About You
This role will suit you if you:
- Have 3-5+ years of sales experience in B2B SaaS, C&I solar, or cleantech, with a track record of carrying and hitting quota
- Know commercial solar inside out — stakeholders, pain points, and the language of the industry. This is a must
- Understand PPA business models — you know what keeps asset managers and CFOs up at night and you speak their language
- Are a proven closer — you handle complex objections, create urgency without being pushy, and see deals through to signature
- Are a natural hunter — you love prospecting, building pipeline, and opening new accounts
- Think strategically about accounts — you see pilots as the start of a relationship, not the end
- Are self-disciplined and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment — you manage your own schedule and follow through on commitments
- Have a genuine passion for sustainability and want to make a meaningful impact on the energy transition
Bonus: Experience with asset management platforms, O&M software, or portfolio monitoring tools.
Why Orkestra?
- Competitive base salary and strong commission upside
- SDR support and warm leads from marketing
- Structured onboarding with product training and real sales coaching
- Direct line to the Head of Growth — collaborative, not micromanaged
- Input into product roadmap based on what you are hearing in market
- Clear path to senior sales leadership as the team scales
- 100% remote and flexible working environment
- A genuinely fun team that takes the energy transition seriously (and appreciates a good meme)
How to Apply
Email with subject line: BDM OPERATE. Attach your CV and LinkedIn profile. Include a genuine cover letter — tell us why you are a good fit in your own words (AI-written letters won’t help your cause). We would also love a brief example of a mid-market deal you have closed — the challenge, your approach, and the outcome.
Please do not apply if you don’t have commercial solar experience and a track record of closing mid-market deals. Save your time!
