Our client is a growing owner managed contractor who seeks to hire a Finance Director. The business has been established for 30 years and turns over approximately £35m. Due to continued growth, this newly created role will initially look to implement a more robust accounting system that can better support project/contract costing and analysis. The role will focus on improving the current processes and controls within the function and be a key business partner for the MD and wider key stakeholders in the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Systems implementation moving from Sage to Sage Construct
- Monthly budgets and forecasts, including setting financial targets and budgets each year
- Ensure that financial records are up to date and reporting is completed in a timely manner
- Approving payment runs
- CIS returns - includes filing the return monthly, corresponding with subcontractors to get the CIS registration information, verifying with HMRC, sending out subcontractor statement of deductions
- Payroll preparation
- Liaise with company accountants and payroll provider
- Lead the month-end process, including payroll, project accounting (deferred income releases, valuations and accruals), prepayments and depreciation journals, and management accounts reports for directors
