Orka Financial has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our clients successful organisation based in Thatcham supporting the day-to-day financial operations across multiple business areas.
The Finance Assistant role will be working closely with internal teams being responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring invoices are processed efficiently, payments are managed correctly, and accounts remain up to date.
You will play a key role in supporting month-end reporting, VAT submissions, and year-end account preparation.
- Manage the daily accounting and bookkeeping activities across family and business operations.
- Enter and process supplier invoices, ensuring payments are made accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Prepare customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and support credit control activities.
- Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenditure, receipts, payments, and accounting journals.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with deadlines and requirements.
- Keep accounting systems and financial records accurate, complete, and well maintained.
- Collate payroll information and provide support to payroll processing when required.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Experience
- Previous experience within a Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper role
- Confident with XERO and accounting software
- Intermediate EXCEL skills
