Orka Financial is working in partnership with a well-established business based in Reading that is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their finance career who is keen to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience, and progress within a supportive and collaborative finance team.

The Junior Accountant will support the day-to-day activities of the wider finance function while studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily support to the finance team across a range of accounting activities
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Contribute to the month-end close, including reporting and management information preparation
  • Learn to implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes
  • Prepare key management reports as part of the month-end reporting cycle
  • Support internal stakeholders across the business
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Gain exposure to a variety of finance functions
  • Provide ad hoc support to senior members of the finance team
About You:
  • Eager to start or continue a career in finance
  • Interested in studying towards ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUPs
