Orka Financial is working with a well-established business based in Basingstoke, who are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their fast-growing finance team. You will be reporting to the Finance Manager and working within a busy accounting department. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant who has previous experience supporting the AP function, dealing with suppliers on a daily basis, assisting with month-end processes, and managing day-to-day accounts payable queries.

Responsibilities

  • Processing multi-currency purchase invoices
  • Month end journals - prepayments
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Monitoring the AP mailbox
  • Carrying out monthly supplier statement reconciliations and following up on any queries
  • Dealing with telephone and email supplier queries
  • Checking and processing expenses
  • Assisting with VAT return completion

Requirements

  • Must have previous experience within an Accounts Payable role
  • Experience processing multi-currency transactions is essential
  • Strong knowledge of the Accounts Payable function
  • Good IT skills, including Word and Excel
  • Highly customer-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers
