Orka Financial is recruiting on behalf of a creative business in Reading for an ambitious Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA and is looking to accelerate their career within a supportive, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and completion of month-end accounts
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
- Assist with accounts payable activities, including invoice processing and supplier query resolution
- Post journals and support general ledger maintenance
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date
- Assist with management reporting and finance deadlines
- Work collaboratively with senior finance colleagues across a variety of projects
- Identify and support process improvement initiatives within the finance team
About You:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting position
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or a similar professional accounting qualification
- Understanding of accounts payable and core accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
- Positive, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-moving business environment
