Our client is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their global professional services company specialising in design and consulting projects. The Finance Business Partner will work closely with Commercial Managers and Regional Directors and be a value add business partner to support with their project portfolios performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Commercial Finance team and the Infrastructure operational team, including Commercial Managers and Regional/Discipline Directors, to manage project portfolio performance, including forecasting.
- Undertake formal weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews of portfolio performance, reviewing key financial impacts and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare concise commentaries and variance analysis.
- Work with the business to prepare detailed forecasts for assigned regions / areas of responsibility.
- Explain the forecasts, and key assumptions, areas of sensitivity, risk & opportunity as required.
- Carry out commercial finance processes that support the monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close & reporting processes, including working closely with the UK financial accounting team.
- Undertake analysis to support transparency over the key drivers of UK performance and participate in discussions with the business on how key aspects of performance - growth, profitability, and cash generation - can be improved.
- Ensure adequate quality control measures are taken over all aspects of financial reporting.
- Support a high standard of commercial and project management, with a consistency of approach, to underpin the financial reporting and planning processes.
- Work within the Stantec risk and control framework, which operates to SOX standards.
- Collaborate with Project Accountants (PAs) and assist with coordination of their monthly project review cycle; also work with PAs to analyse project financial performance to identify challenges and solutions.
- Provide financial support to Project Managers and Project Control Specialists as required.
- Support the Group planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes as required.
- Work closely with the Commercial Finance team to support monitoring of the cost base, including developing options for cost reduction where appropriate and possible.
A salary of £55,000-£65,000 plus bonus and benefits.
