An expanding multi-company group is looking for a part-qualified accountant to take a central role in its month-end process. Based in Wallingford with a hybrid pattern of three office days and two days from home, this is a broad position offering close exposure to senior finance leaders and plenty of room to develop.
The role
You will help turn activity across several trading businesses into accurate, timely financial information. Working directly with the Group Financial Controller, you will own core accounting routines, strengthen controls and support projects as the organisation continues to grow.
What you will be doing
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments in line with the month-end timetable.
• Record and check revenue from online sales channels and raise customer invoices.
• Post intercompany charges, bank movements and payroll entries, completing the related reconciliations.
• Prepare periodic VAT returns and maintain the fixed-asset and depreciation schedules.
• Support the annual audit, process improvements and a planned finance-system implementation.
• Provide clear, reliable support to the wider finance and management teams.
What we are looking for
• ACCA, ACA or CIMA part-qualified, studying towards qualification, or at finalist stage.
• Hands-on experience with several parts of a typical month-end close.
• A careful, organised approach and confidence managing competing deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at different levels.
• A proactive mindset and an appetite to take on more responsibility over time.
Package
• £40,000–£45,000 per annum.
• Study support.
• 25 days' holiday excluding bank holidays.
