About the role: We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our London-based finance team and play a key role in supporting Oritain’s continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong grounding in transactional finance who is looking to develop their management accounting expertise in a growing, purpose-driven business.

Working closely with our Management Accountants and wider finance team, you'll support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial controls and compliance activities across the UK and international entities. You'll join a highly experienced team, gaining exposure to management accounting responsibilities while receiving support and mentoring from experienced finance professionals.

This is the opportunity for someone who is committed to building a career in management accounting and wants to develop within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting through the preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments and management account schedules. Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll help prepare monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis against budget and forecast, and provide ad hoc financial analysis when required. You'll also play an important role in maintaining strong financial controls, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating reconciling items, and supporting the integrity of financial reporting across the business.

The role will involve ownership of several key reconciliations and compliance activities, including fixed asset accounting, lease accounting under IFRS 16, intercompany reconciliations, VAT returns and audit support. You'll review accounts payable transactions, ensure accurate coding and classification of financial information, maintain supporting documentation, and contribute to process improvements as the finance function evolves. Success in the role will come from building strong relationships across the business, taking ownership of your work, and supporting the wider team to achieve shared goals.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is committed to building a career in management accounting and is either already studying towards, or planning to pursue, a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA. You'll bring previous experience from a finance or accounting environment, including exposure to month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and core financial controls. Experience gained within an accounts or finance team would be particularly valuable, as would a strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

You'll be confident using Excel and financial systems, with NetSuite or other ERP experience considered a strong advantage. We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Just as importantly, you'll be a collaborative team player who enjoys supporting colleagues, taking ownership of your work and contributing to a positive, high-performing culture. This role would suit someone looking to step into management accounting from a transactional finance background, as well as candidates already early in their management accounting journey and looking for an environment where they can continue to grow and develop.
