About the Role
A well-established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join its growing team. This is a hands-on role working on bespoke, heavy-engineering projects, producing high-quality fabricated structures and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed metal fabrication and engineering drawings
- Work with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Carry out fabrication tasks including cutting, forming and tack welding
- MIG welding to a good standard (advantageous)
- Operate workshop machinery such as guillotines, brake presses and overhead cranes
- Inspect workpieces and report any non-conforming material
- Complete fabrication tasks within set timescales and specification
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and follow all health & safety procedures
- Complete required paperwork and support additional tasks as needed
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in metal fabrication (mild steel, stainless steel; aluminium beneficial)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
- Experience with MIG welding
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with physically demanding work involving lifting, bending and manual tasks
