We are looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join our logistics team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. You will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of deliveries across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and organise transport and return raw material loads to mills across the UK.
- Manage driver and vehicle resources through collaboration with local transport managers.
- Assign and monitor work for 3rd party hauliers.
- Work with Customer Service to optimise delivery volumes across the week using customer flexibility.
- Communicate effectively with management and site teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems to identify and implement efficiencies.
- Produce and maintain plan vs actual KPIs.
- Provide performance feedback to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all planning complies with O Licence and safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Experience using Paragon planning systems (preferred).
- Previous experience in logistics or demand planning.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to take initiative, remain calm under pressure, and work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools.
- Positive, customer-focused mindset internally and externally.
- Flexible, with a can-do attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setup, with regular on-site presence during onboarding.
