Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Salary:
£40,000 - £45,000 £3,500 Shift Allowance Up to 8% Annual Bonus Location : Basingstoke We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business. Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, and supporting manufacturing operations to maximise efficiency, reliability and performance. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who thrives within a fast-paced production environment. Shift Pattern This role operates on a rotating 12-hour day and night shift pattern (7:00am-7:00pm / 7:00pm-7:00am). Week 1 Monday & Tuesday: Days Thursday & Friday: Nights Week 2 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: Days Week 3 Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: Nights Occasional weekend work may be required, although this is rare. Key Responsibilities for this Maintenance Engineer Role: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently. Support production teams in minimising downtime and maximising line performance. Investigate recurring equipment issues and support root cause analysis activities. Ensure maintenance records and work completed are accurately documented. Work collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to improve reliability and performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. Provide effective communication and handovers between shifts. Act as Site Duty Manager when required. Demonstrate leadership and ownership during out-of-hours operational periods. Essential Requirements for this Maintenance Engineer role: Electrical qualification and/or strong electrical maintenance experience. Ability to carry out electrical fault finding on systems up to 415V. Previous manufacturing or FMCG maintenance engineering experience. Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Comfortable working a rotating day and night shift pattern. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. UK-based with the right to work in the UK. Ideally you will hold one of the following: Engineering Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification/Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification Package & Benefits £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary £3,500 shift allowance Up to 8% annual bonus Company pension Private medical insurance Life insurance Health & wellbeing programme On-site canteen Discounted or free food Free parking Sick pay Please note:
