Location: Local to Shrewsbury area
Orion are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and remains calm under pressure. As Buyer you will be working part of a team with responsibility for buying a range of electro-mechanical parts for production, this will include metal work electronics through to electrical items.
Buyer responsibilities:
- Execute daily procurement activities with speed and accuracy to keep production lines running.
- Source competitive quotes, evaluate supplier options, and raise purchase orders promptly.
- Monitor delivery schedules to prevent downtime and ensure materials meet strict quality and specification standards.
- Quickly resolve issues related to pricing, delivery delays, or product non-conformance to maintain workflow continuity.
- Track and expedite deliveries, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid production delays.
- Organise and manage procurement documentation, including purchase orders and project files, ensuring full traceability.
Buyer Experience:
- 2 years experience in procurement or purchasing within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems.
- Electro-mechanical purchasing experience.
- High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure.
Buyer Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:30
