Salary: £50,000 £55,000 (Depending on Experience)

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Proposal Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering clear career progression to Bid Manager.

You\’ll play a key role in managing and delivering competitive proposals, tenders, and bids for low-voltage (LV) electrical projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you\’ll help us secure new contracts and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead proposal submissions manage the full proposal lifecycle, including technical queries, document preparation, and deadline tracking.

• Prepare PQQs and tenders ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements.

• Develop commercial proposals create costed bids with input from engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.

• Support sales assist in building strong client proposals and identifying opportunities.

• Collaborate with teams work cross-functionally to improve competitiveness and efficiency.

• Manage risk & compliance ensure proposals meet health & safety, legal, and company standards.

• Build relationships liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support successful proposals.

• Maintain records keep accurate logs of proposal activity, versions, and communications.

• Drive improvements contribute to better proposal processes and higher win rates.

Requirements:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

• Strong understanding of LV Electrical systems

• Background in project-based environments

• Proven experience in proposals, tenders, or bids

• Excellent communication and document writing skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Word)

• Strong attention to detail and organisation

• Proactive and problem-solving mindset
