We are recruiting for a

Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering business delivering bespoke industrial systems and turnkey projects.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering involvement throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement and site surveys through to design, manufacture, and installation.

The Role As a Project Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with customers, manufacturing teams, and installation engineers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include: Producing engineering designs and layouts using 2D Auto CAD and 3D Inventor.

Conducting site visits, surveys, and customer consultations to gather project requirements.

Developing practical engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.

Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to support installation activities.

Liaising closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are fit for production.

Monitoring project progress and supporting successful delivery from concept through to installation.

Utilising ERP and project management systems to plan, track, and manage project activities.

Providing technical support to internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.

About You The successful candidate will have: The Project Mechanical Design Engineer will need strong CAD skills (Open to 3D software

Inventor preferable but will consider Solidworks, Creo etc.) At least 2 years' experience in a Mechanical Design, Project Engineer role or similar taking designs from concept to completion Practical understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, or sheet metal processes.

Excellent communication skills with the confidence to interact directly with customers and stakeholders.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Good IT skills and the ability to quickly adopt new software and systems.

A proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges.
