Salary: Up to £16.15 per hour
Hours: Alternating weekly shifts, approx. 40-44 hours per week
Shifts: One week of earlies (approx. 07:00-16:30) followed by one week of lates (approx. 11:00/11:30-20:00/20:30)
Key Responsibilities:- Set and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (no programming required).
- Complete tooling, fixturing, and offset adjustments to run production efficiently.
- Produce components to drawing/specification with accurate in process inspection.
- Operate additional shop floor equipment including band saws and conventional machines (training can be provided).
- Maintain high standards of safe working practices in the machine shop.
- Support production performance across the department by ensuring strong throughput and minimal downtime.
- Work collaboratively with offline programmers and senior machinists to resolve machining issues.
- Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all quality and H&S procedures.
- 5 years CNC machining experience, ideally with both 3 and 5 axis machines.
- Ability to set and operate CNC machines confidently without requiring programming.
- Background may be wood, plastic, metal, or composite machining all accepted.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and measurement tools.
- Apprenticeship trained or City & Guilds qualification preferred, but not essential.
- Able to hit the ground running with solid machining fundamentals.
- Flexible to work across different machines or specialise depending on preference and business need.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated to maintain quality and output levels.
- Training available on additional wood-machining equipment if needed.
