This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Yard Controller who enjoys taking ownership, leading people and improving processes within a busy operational environment. The successful Yard Controller will oversee the day-to-day running of the yard, supporting goods in, goods out, stock control and logistics operations across multiple nearby sites. This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo. The business is looking for a hands-on Yard Controller who can identify improvements, increase efficiency and help support ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate daily yard operationsLead and support a team of 4 operatives, with plans to grow furtherOversee goods in and goods out activitiesEnsure stock is accurately stored, organised and easily locatedCoordinate product movement between nearby sitesOperate a forklift when requiredImprove yard layout, organisation and efficiencyWork closely with production and logistics teamsMonitor stock movements and inventory levelsEnsure customer orders are dispatched accurately and on timeMaintain a safe and efficient working environmentWhat We're Looking For Previous experience as a Yard Controller, Yard Supervisor, Yard Manager or similarExperience leading or supervising a teamStrong goods in/goods out experienceForklift experience is essentialForklift licence beneficial but not essentialExperience handling large, awkward or oversized productsStrong organisational and stock control skillsAbility to implement improvements and take ownershipManufacturing, logistics, stores or yard backgroundWhat's On Offer?
