Mechanical Fitter in Stroud
£14.42 - £16.50/hour
Mon-Thu 07:30-16:30, Fri 07:30-14:00
Salary: £14.42 - £18.50 per hour depending on experience.
We’re on the lookout for a Mechanical Fitter with real hands-on skill. If you’ve got experience in pipe bending, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication and can read and work from technical drawings this is your chance to join a high-performing team.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Full mechanical and electrical assembly builds from scratch
- Pipe bending, mechanical assembly, and fabrication
- Working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
- Using hand and power tools for cutting, folding, and fitting
- Quality checking builds for alignment and accuracy
- Following Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe workspace
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a fast-paced or technical environment
- Skilled in pipe bending, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication
- Strong ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Confident with a wide range of hand and power tools
- Problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail
- Experience in vehicle fitting or fabrication is a plus
- Background in Aviation, Military, Marine, or similar sectors is an advantage
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics is a bonus
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Monthly tools bonus for good attendance
- Performance bonuses based on team KPIs
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 25 with service)
