Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electro/Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. This role involves the mechanical and electrical assembly of high-precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, fitters, and wiremen to build complete systems from component level to finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components for precision measurement machines.
- Perform bench fitting and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Make minor adjustments to components using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
- Verify geometric tolerances using first principle measurement tools (e.g., DTIs, gauge blocks).
- Assemble pneumatic systems and interpret pneumatic schematics.
- Conduct fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and general assembly schematics.
- Carry out electrical panel wiring and interpret electrical/electronic diagrams.
- Support calibration and fault finding on DC control systems.
- Apply knowledge of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or time-served equivalent.
- HNC qualification desirable.
- Proven experience in mechanical/electrical fitting within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
