Job Description

Days Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE

Orion is partnered with a high volume, food manufacturing business located in Wrexham, which is recruiting for a highly skilled Days Engineer to join the projects team.

Days Engineer Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Actively supports goals of other departments to ensure business goals are met.
  • Builds relationships which inspire trust with other departments as well as within engineering.
  • Utilising available downtime/ gaps in production through change overs to carry out planned maintenance and improvement work.
  • High accuracy communication to relevant departments with any effects to production targets.
  • High communication with shift supervisor to ensure breakdown times are minimised and use of your time is efficient.
  • Do everything reasonably practicable to ensure shift objectives are achieved.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, contributing ideas to improve the plant and equipment performance, reliability and efficiency.
  • To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the process, plant, machinery and associated equipment and shares that knowledge openly with colleagues to ensure team development.
  • Ensure all work has been recorded with all aspects of the shift on the CMMS and ensure shift reports sent out are a true reflection of the work completed.
  • Carry out autonomous and preventative maintenance tasks competently and correctly, recording work carried out in appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisor and Site Engineering Manager to ensure efficient ordering of spare parts.
  • Ensure hand overs between shifts are detailed and add value.
  • Communicate to Shift Supervisor any important information relating to machine faults and alterations to set up.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safe working practices, recognising actual and potential hazards and taking the correct effective action to minimise accidents..
  • Communication with Shift Supervisor of any issues presented during the shift.
  • Effectively communicate with fellow engineers to avoid duplication
  • Use problems as a learning opportunity, using the appropriate problem solving tools and techniques to lead to the desired outcome and share those learnings with other colleagues
  • Ensure escalation procedures are followed during breakdowns

Days Engineer Qualifications/Experience:

  • ONC/HNC OR EQUIVALENT IN ENGINEERING (ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL)
  • FMCG Experience
  • Proven Effective Team Working Experience
  • CMMS Experience
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to change within the business/ department

Days Engineer Benefits:
