We are recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a global engineering business manufacturing marine applications.

This Supplier Quality Engineer position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a machining and inspection background to move into a broader supplier quality and engineering role, working alongside an experienced Senior Supplier Development Engineer as part of a supportive and highly skilled team.

Unlike a traditional Supplier Quality Engineer role where extensive travel is required, this position is predominantly site based and focused on the inspection, investigation and improvement of supplied components before they enter production.

The Role

As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all supplied components meet the quality standards required before they are released into manufacturing.

A significant part of the role involves inspecting incoming machined parts, investigating quality concerns and working with suppliers to identify and resolve root cause issues. xgikmsk

Working closely with the Senior Supplier Development Engineer, the successful Supplier Quality Engineer will play a key role in protecting manufacturing quality and driving continuous supplier performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming machined components against drawings and specifications
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances and surface finishes
  • Review supplier documentation and certification
  • Identify non-conforming components and quality issues
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality concerns
  • Support supplier improvement activities
  • Conduct occasional supplier visits when required
  • Ensure only compliant parts are released into production
