Orion Corporation (Orion Pharma) is looking for a CMC Scientist to support the development of Orion Pharma’s biologics portfolio for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will contribute to both external manufacturing oversight and internal CMC activities, with a strong focus on supporting CMC execution across multiple programs. In addition to interactions with CDMOs, the role will play an important part in internal CMC coordination, documentation review, and regulatory submission support, helping to manage workload within the CMC team and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of CMC outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- CMC & CDMO Support: Support CMC activities across biologics programs in collaboration with internal CMC leads. Participate in CDMO interactions related to manufacturing, documentation, and reporting, as appropriate. Review CDMO-generated documentation (e.g. batch records, reports, CoAs) and support internal approval processes.
- CMC Documentation & Regulatory Support: Contribute to the preparation, review, and compilation of CMC documentation for IND/IMPD submissions. Support writing, reviewing, and consistency-checking of CMC sections, summaries, and supporting data packages. Perform detailed data review to ensure alignment across reports, regulatory documents, and internal records.
- Internal Coordination & Team Support: Support internal CMC meetings, tracking actions and following up on deliverables. Help coordinate inputs across CMC, QA, Regulatory, and other internal stakeholders. Act as an additional CMC resource to help balance workload across the team during peak activity periods.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure CMC activities and documentation align with GMP requirements and internal quality standards. Support QA interactions related to CMC documentation and approvals. Contribute to continuous improvement of internal CMC processes and ways of working.
This role can be based in Espoo in Finland or in Cambridge in the UK.
Our Expectations
- MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in biologics CMC and/or CDMO management in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Working knowledge of EU and US GxP requirements and relevant ICH guidelines.
- Working understanding of GMP manufacturing, documentation, and regulatory CMC expectations.
- Experience supporting IND/IMPD submissions is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a matrix environment across multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
