Our Oil & Gas Operator client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Business/Financial Analyst based in Aberdeen. What are we looking for. Ideally you will be an experienced Cost/Accountant with a background in Oil & Gas Cost Engineering, analysis and the ability to report. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required to perform this role competently. Preferred: Experience of working with Excel, PowerPoint and Maximo will be an advantage although training will be given as required. Please note that this role would require presence in the office 5 days per week in the City Centre. 12 month contract with a very high likelihood of extending long term. Purpose of Role: Provision of management information to the Company Decommissioning, Operational and Management Teams to support performance management and decision making. Ensure that accurate business assumptions are incorporated in company accounting and forecasting processes. Ensure consistency in reporting as assets move from Production to Decommissioning Duties & Responsibilities to include: Regularly interact with Company Decommissioning & Operational Teams to develop Budgets and robust monthly forecast updates. In order to do this the individual will develop a thorough understanding of the company business, key contractual arrangements and the key cost drivers. Take responsibility for all aspects of the North Sea Engineering forecast during Production & Decommissioning operations, ensuring the forecast accurately reflects current and expected activities, ensuring inputs from the relevant engineers are captured. Provide information and highlight key issues to Company Decommissioning/Engineering Teams and Management on a routine and adhoc basis to allow them to better understand and manage costs. Analyse key variances from Budget and previous month’s forecast and communicate these effectively to Company Management. Be aware of commercial arrangements relating to asset area of responsibility and ensure these are correctly reflected in forecasts, budgets, and plans and are followed appropriately. Collate monthly value of work done (VOWD) estimates and critically review accrual levels to ensure that Company monthly financial reporting is accurate and reasonably represents the underlying business. Track vessel campaigns on a daily basis flagging threats to EFC, managing the forecast and working closely with responsible engineers to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of costs. Where appropriate processing/coding of invoices in a timely manner ensuring actuals are captured and reviewed as part of the forecasting process. Provide Corporate Reporting with understanding of costs and activity, at least on a monthly basis. Provide leadership and support to more junior members of the Business Analysis Team. Provide input into annual budget process and plan updates. Critically evaluate current processes and procedures and make recommendations for process improvements. Ability to communicate in a factual and pertinent manner across functions and at all organisational levels.
