Job Description

Our client is an upstream Operator currently recruiting for the permanent position of Maintenance Technician (instrumentation), based in the Aberdeen office with an offshore trip required potentially for 1 week per month.
Responsibilities:
• Manage instrument department work scopes from identification, work order creation, material requisition, planning and execution. As well as identifying and raising any necessary planned maintenance change requests.
• Safe and efficient operation and optimisation of all instrumentation and associated systems.
• Responsible for the execution of routine maintenance, including preventative maintenance routines covering safety and production critical work, and corrective maintenance work scopes on instrumentation systems.
• Accountable for the delivery of the 7-day plan and expectation to contribute to planning activities and taking responsibility for plan attainment.
• Ability to use the electronic CMMS system SAP to provide details of task and history.
• Calibration of variety of instruments and conduct routine tests of plant ESD systems and use of inhibits/isolations to prevent unplanned shutdowns.
• Ability to read P&IDs, C&Es, loop diagrams, vendor documentation and generate logs/reports/handover notes.
• Trained to a competent standard to work and carry out maintenance on equipment used within hazardous areas and recording inspections on Intrinsix.
• Responsible for creating permits, isolations, and operational risk assessments as part of their role as PA within the Proscient system.
• Safe and efficient operation of a wide range of discrete packages and equipment, including high frequency PMR work, light mechanical repairs, documentation reporting and log keeping duties. The range of equipment includes but is not limited to the following:
• ABB Control Systems
• Fire and Gas Systems
• HIP's Control Systems
• Emergency Shutdown System
• Hydraulic Systems – HPU and Wellhead Control Panel
• SBT Management
• Knowledge of Telecoms Systems
• Knowledge of IT Equipment and Systems
• Additional responsibilities that would be expected to be carried out alongside this role includes but is not limited to the following (training will be provided):
• ERT duties
• Banksman Slinger
• Coxswain
• Advanced First Aider
Qualifications & Requirements:
• A recognised qualification e.g., S/NVQ 3 Instrument and Controls and a background in industrial processes and equipment, coupled with demonstrated experience of working with normally unattended installations. Conversant with instrument-based control systems such as ABB or Honeywell etc.
• Must have the ability to compile technical reports with associated drawings, pertaining to operations.
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Conversant in SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
• Demonstrate a proactive, flexible, and positive working attitude and ability to prioritise and manage workload.
• Shares knowledge freely with others to ensure best practices.
• Self-starter with the ability take ownership to drive and complete work at the highest standard.
• Demonstrate good leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a close, multi-discipline environment. Maintain positive and tactful relationships with others.
