Our client, a well-established provider of domestic heating and gas services, recognised for their commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and exceptional customer service, currently has an opportunity for a Domestic Gas Engineer to join their team. Based in Inverness, this role offers a varied workload with regular travel across the Highlands and Moray, ideal for a confident engineer who takes pride in delivering safe, high quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out annual and interim maintenance visits in compliance with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
- Install and replace gas appliances, heat emitters, heating controls, and components according to manufacturer instructions.
- Install gas pipework, performing tightness and strength testing as required.
- Perform Combustion Performance Analysis on gas appliances.
- Diagnose and investigate faults using manufacturer technical literature.
- Attend to reported gas escapes and suspected fumes following Gas Safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedures, applying warning labels and notices as necessary.
- Complete all legal documentation accurately using handheld PDA systems.
- Carry out pipework alterations, repairs, and system pressure tests.
- Replace radiators, valves, pipework, and parts to complete repairs.
- Respond to daily reactive repair requests from clients.
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Participate in an On-Call rota as required.
- Occasionally undertake additional duties necessary to meet business needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Domestic ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, DAH1, CPA1.
- OFTEC and BPEC registration where required.
- Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations and best practices.
- Full, clean, and current driving licence.
- Experience with unvented hot water systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Able to work on own initiative while also being a strong team player.
- Demonstrate high standards of working practice and lead by example.
- Flexible approach to work and IT literate.
