We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Stock Controller based in Kyleakin, Isle of Skye. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a key operational role.
Location: Kyleakin, Isle of Skye
Contract Type: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience
Accommodation: Can be provided if required
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring accuracy and availability
- Placing orders with suppliers, tracking shipments and ensuring the timely receipt of goods
- Receive, inspect and record deliveries
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Coordinate with purchasing and production teams
- Maintain accurate records using inventory management systems
- Implementing and adhering to health and safety procedures, standards and environmental legislation
- Ensure storage areas are organised and comply with health and safety standards
- Working with other departments, such as sales and warehouse to ensure smooth operations
- Identifying and resolving issues related to stock and communicating them effectively
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a stock control or inventory management role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good IT skills, particularly in inventory or warehouse management systems
- Communication skills to ensure effective communication with suppliers, customers and other team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and capable of handling stock as required
- Flexibility with working hours
- Industry experience: familiarity with mechanical parts and components is advantageous but not essential
