The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Onshore Mechanical Technician – Barrow. The contract is 12 months with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (11 hour days). Travel or accommodation expenses are not paid.
Responsibilities
- Executes routine and on-routine maintenance activities to plant and equipment in accordance with agreed procedures and operational requirements to protect plant, equipment and the safety of employees.
- Investigates complex technical problems relating to critical plant, identifies solutions and acts to return plant to normal operating service.
- Prepares and presents technical reports and maintains appropriate records of activities within the recognised systems to maintain an accurate record of activities for future analysis and third-party audits.
- Carries out commissioning and decommissioning activities to ensure planned plant operating programmes are achieved in a timely manner.
- Contributes to the design and commissioning of plant modifications, including initiating recommendations to ensure ongoing availability of plant and equipment.
- Supervises other staff and vendor/contractor employees in undertaking work activities to ensure safety and efficiency in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures safe working practices and permits are in place to protect plant, equipment and employees.
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in petrochemical process operations or maintenance.
- Sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Thorough knowledge of procedures and process systems to maintain health, safety and environmental performance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Carrying out duties of level 3 Crane Driver when suitably trained.
- Trained in areas such as firefighting, use of self-contained breathing apparatus, offshore coxswain, first aid, etc., to enable participation in an Emergency Response Team.
- Maintains and develops the competencies necessary to carry out the role to the required standard while in position.
- BTEC Ordinary Certificate or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject is necessary to provide underpinning knowledge.
- Several years of mechanical experience in the E&P industry.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Minimum BTEC ONC in Mechanical discipline and Mechanical CompEx.
- Preferred: TMJI10 / TMJI19 Bolted Connections, SBT 01/02 Small Bore Tubing, Banksman Slinger Training, Forklift.
