About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Team Leader to join a dynamic and innovative engineering company based in Reading. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electro-mechanical testing and calibration, who thrives in a fast-paced and quality-focused environment.

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Test & Calibration Department, managing a small team of technicians, handling customer repairs and returns, and ensuring all products meet the highest standards through rigorous testing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support the test team to meet departmental objectives and deadlines
  • Perform and oversee functional testing and calibration of mechanical and electronic assemblies
  • Manage and monitor customer repairs and returns through the internal ticketing system
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, sales, and customer service teams to streamline operations
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues and quality concerns promptly and efficiently
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards and best practices within the test environment
  • Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of all test results and processes

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical, testing, or engineering-related role
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience within an electro-mechanical or electronics testing environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and electronic schematics
  • Proficiency with standard PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and internal ticketing systems
