Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Westerham, Kent
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum plus 5% annual bonus
Department: Quality (Single-person role)
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to take full ownership of our Quality Management System (QMS) in a standalone capacity. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone confident in managing all aspects of quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement, with a working knowledge of ISO 9001 .
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Maintain and continually improve the company s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance and readiness for audits.
- Act as the primary contact for all quality-related matters, including internal and external audits, certification bodies, and customer quality requirements.
- Develop, review, and update quality procedures, policies, and documentation.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits.
- Monitor key quality metrics and present findings to management.
- Liaise closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain to maintain consistent product and service quality.
Skills & Experience Required as a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer in a manufacturing/production environment.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of ISO 9001:2015 .
- Experience in running a QMS in a standalone capacity.
- Strong auditing skills (internal auditor qualification preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work cross-functionally.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, self-sufficient approach.
