Orion is partnered with a well-established Recycling company located in Warwickshire which is recruiting for a confident and enthusiastic Health and Safety Advisor. They are looking for a strong team player who has a collaborative approach to team leadership.

The focus of this Health and Safety Advisor is:

  • Strategic Development: Shape and steer the H&S strategy across the site ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Operational Execution: Directly manage day-to-day safety operations, ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation, enhancing our safety systems, and leading our safety team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing EHS systems
  • Prepare guidance documents to meet legal and regulatory standards
  • Keep EHS noticeboards up to date
  • Conduct audits and inspections for H&S and environmental standards
  • Maintain EHS data across internal and external systems
  • Ensure legal assessments (PUWER, LOLER, PRN) are completed
  • Manage COSHH use and storage
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies
  • Track safety performance metrics
  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and briefings
  • Investigate incidents and produce reports
  • Monitor PTW and risk assessments; involve staff in hazard identification
  • Step in for the EHS Manager when needed
  • Stay updated on EHS legislation and advise on changes
  • Support ISO, RecyClass, and other accreditation efforts

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3 years EHS experience in UK manufacturing or waste sectors
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or working towards)
  • Ability to influence change on site
  • Risk assessment and legislation knowledge
  • Problem-solving and communication skills
  • Confident working independently on-site
  • Team player with a hands-on approach
  • Must have experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Pension contribution

Hours: Monday to Friday, onsite only (no hybrid)
