New Product Development Manager Multi-Site Responsibility (UK & Europe)

Location: UK-based with line responsibility across 2 European Sites

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for technology and innovation? We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a diverse, multi-disciplinary design engineering team both in the UK and across two other European sites.

The Opportunity: This is a pivotal leadership role for an Engineering Manager who thrives on collaboration, accountability, and driving change. You'll manage a team with varied skill sets and oversee the full engineering lifecycle—from New Product Development (NPD) and R&D through to product enhancement, compliance, and Engineering Change Management.

As such, we are looking for an experienced individual with first class people skills who can bring to the role ideas and new thinking to innovate, develop, standardise and drive standards and procedures for the design and engineering team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage multi-site R&D & NPI project engineering teams to deliver on strategic product development initiatives.
  • Oversee and drive New Product Development, engineering change, product lifecycle planning, and design enhancements.
  • Act as the technical authority across product lines and locations.
  • Foster innovation and best practices in product design and manufacturing support.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (CE, UL, CSA), and maintain technical files.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and product management to align development goals with business strategy.
  • Promote strong engineering governance, data management, and system maintenance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A design and development background, leading multi-disciplined design teams in a product development environment.
  • Full product development lifecycle experience.
  • Strong people management experience—able to lead, coach, and inspire engineers across multiple disciplines and both in-house and remotely.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex electro-mechanical engineering projects and managing engineering budgets.
  • A technical bias in electronic engineering or software engineering would be highly advantageous, although any electromechanical product background would be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker who is hands-on and detail-oriented when needed.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to support international teams.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, or a related science discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in R&D / New Product Development engineering leadership roles in an electro-mechanical product environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing cross-functional, multi-regional engineering teams.

The role will be site based, 4 days a week (1 day working from home option). Full benefits package including 33 days holiday (25 days + 8 Bank Holidays), pension, company options scheme.
