Location: Basingstoke Office / Remote (UK-wide travel required)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the electronics manufacturing sector for a commercially astute and proactive Business Development Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding sales opportunities across high-reliability markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced sales professional with a background in PCB or component manufacturing, looking to take full ownership of a key sales function within a forward-thinking and innovative business.

Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow the customer base and explore new market opportunities.
  • Build and manage strong, long-term client relationships in sectors such as Medical, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, and Automotive.
  • Serve as the primary representative for clients, understanding their technical requirements and proposing tailored PCB/component solutions.
  • Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and detailed proposal development.
  • Attend trade shows, networking events, and client meetings across the UK.
  • Maintain accurate activity records using CRM tools and report on pipeline, performance, and market insights.
  • Drive proactive lead generation and business development initiatives to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Essential experience as an Business Development Manager:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within manufacturing.
  • Solid understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and electronic component applications.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of closing sales and achieving targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements between clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools.

Desirable experience as an Business Development Manager:

  • Experience managing multiple client accounts and/or small-scale project delivery.
