As a Prep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing components for painting by ensuring that all surfaces are clean, smooth, and free from contaminants. You will work closely with our painting team to ensure that parts are properly prepared and ready for finishing to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities for a Prep Technician:
- Prepare surfaces of components by sanding, cleaning, and masking them to ensure they are free of dust, oils, or contaminants.
- Inspect components for defects or damage that may affect the painting process.
- Apply primer or base coats as required before sending parts to the main painting team.
- Handle and prepare various materials and tools to assist in painting processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Work with precision to meet quality control standards and deadlines.
The Prep Technician should have the following Skills & Experience:
- Experience in paint preparation or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work with various hand tools and painting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in a workshop environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
