The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
To oversee all aspects of Quality at the advertised location. The Powerstar portfolio includes a diverse range of transformers manufactured at the Bromsgrove facility along with Voltage Optimizers and Battery Storage Systems (BESS) manufactured at Sheffield. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for each site's products, warranty, supply chain and inter-site quality management systems. The role is ideal for a candidate looking to bring their own experiences to define and redefine the Powerstar Quality systems enabling process repeatability as our business grows. Reporting into the General Manager of each site, the role is deliberately positioned within the organisation to make an impact.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement Quality Management processes on site in line with ISO 9001 certification
- Work with design and engineering on built in Quality and Personal Quality
- Ensure “Right-First-Time” and “On-Time-In-Full” mentality and way of working
- Act as principal contact for all warranty and service work feedback
- Work with opposite at Bromsgrove for inter-plant feedback
- Work with purchasing on Supplier Quality
- Implement and track data relating to Quality Metrics
- Define the ‘Powerstar standard’
Skills, Experience & Education Required
- Engineering degree or equivalent essential
- Minimum of 5 Years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience of implementing quality standards within an electro-mechanical bespoke manual build environment
- Must be able to understand Schematic Diagrams and Technical Drawings
- Ability to manage calibration of on-site and off-site equipment
- Proven experience of ISO 9001 Quality Systems and ISO Certification essential
- Exposure to ISO 14001 beneficial but not essential
- Experience of working with cross functional teams to achieve a common goal
- Understanding of capturing and using data to influence the manufacturing build processes
- Visual Management and Lean Manufacturing techniques advantageous
- Experience of 5S/6S, SQCDP(E), CAPA, 8D, 5-Whys, DMAIC and VSM beneficial
- Must be an ambassador for Change with experience of Conflict Management
- Experience of electrical builds advantageous
- Experience of complex project planning and stakeholder management
