My client is a special purpose machinery company who was established in the 90s and today serves an international customer base with sales, service and support available worldwide. The company’s products are highly regarded for their standard of engineering, reliability and performance within their industry.
As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be required to design the company’s full product portfolio. This includes:
- Compiling parts lists and maintaining drawing records
- Working with the assembly and test technicians
- Visiting customer sites in the UK and overseas
- Responding quickly to internal and external customer requests
- Providing practical and cost-effective solutions to design change and modification for individual orders
- Providing technical support to customer and internal sales/service departments
What we would like from the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Mechanical Engineering degree (must be BEng or MEng, 2:1 or higher)
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in design within an industrial environment ideally designing machinery such as conveyor systems, packaging machinery or 3-phase machinery
- Experience using 3D design software (ideally Inventor) and 2D design software (ideally AutoCAD)
- Must be free to travel worldwide with no restrictions
- Full UK manual or automatic driving licence
What we offer the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Salary paying between £53,000 to £58,000 doe
- 33 days holiday days (inclusive of bank holidays). After long service this increases further
- Pension 5%
- Private healthcare and increased pension contributions (8%) after further qualifying period (2-3 years)
- Life assurance, after qualifying probationary period (6 months)
- Out of pocket expenses reimbursed
- Working week is 8.45am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday
