Orion Building Engineering Services Ltd have a fantastic opportunity to add to our expanding team of Engineers with the position of a Senior Electrician Q/S NICEIC. With an excellent industry reputation, gained over twenty years, Orion lead the way in the delivery of building engineering and support services. Our aim is to improve the safety and well-being of the customers we serve and ensure the efficiency and reliability of the buildings we maintain through exceptional service, knowledge and expertise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a mix of client sites such as schools, offices and residential sites and will be familiar and will be responsible for a variety of electrical tasks, including installation works, maintenance, repair and testing of electrical systems. Day to day duties include troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Working in partnership with your fellow Engineers and the wider team.
  • Conduct routine planned maintenance and service requirements working under own initiative to locate and diagnose faults and concerns.
  • Test installations, in line with the current legislation requirements and record the results of such tests on electronic system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and answer any client questions or relay these questions back to the office.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate behaviours in line with our company values: Honesty, Professionalism and Quality.
  • Proficient in Electricity and Electrical Work, installations, upgrades and compliance with industry standards.
  • Skills in Maintenance and Repair with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of NICEIC requirements and the ability to serve as a Qualified Supervisor (QS).
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of BMS systems and troubleshooting desirable.
  • ECS Gold Card PAMSA/ IPAF desirable.
  • EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems 600/5175/9 - desirable.
  • Good level of computer skills, ability to use PDA/Compliance system for reporting.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Good presentation, planning, and organisational skill, self-motivated and able to work under their own initiative.
  • Clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Clean DBS.
  • Ability to make recommendations from service visits.
  • Must have own hand tools of a good quality.
Benefits:
  • Salary £42,000-£46,000 (depending on experience), with significant opportunities to earn overtime which is readily available.
  • Out of Hours Call Out Rota.
  • Works 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday.
  • 24 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year following 3 years of service.
