THE POSITION

We’re excited to be recruiting a Marketing Copywriter to join our award‑winning travel company.

This is a full‑time, entry‑level position predominantly focused on copywriting and content optimisation for our websites and holiday booking system. It’s best suited to a recent graduate or someone early on in their marketing career. The successful applicant will be expected to work at least three days in our office, located in Putney, London.

OVERVIEW

Marketing Copywriters work in the Content Team, which is part of the Marketing Department. They are responsible for writing and curating original and engaging content and images for Original Travel’s website and holiday booking system, as well as working closely with the Regional Sales Teams to help develop engaging content. They will also work with Original Diving, the scuba diving branch of our company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and update copy for hotels, activities and more on our holiday booking system
  • Write informative, accurate and engaging copy for our websites, with a focus on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). This will include blogs, itineraries, informational pages and more
  • Upload copy to our website using our bespoke content management system
  • Optimise existing content on the Original Travel and Original Diving websites using SEO guidelines provided
  • Help with ongoing website and SEO projects designed to boost website performance
  • Source, label and store on‑brand imagery for our websites and holiday booking system
  • Liaise with the Sales Team to gather information and generate ideas
  • Help us achieve brand consistency by maintaining a unified tone of voice across all our communications
  • Provide ideas and content for our wider marketing channels
  • Someone who is keen to kickstart their copywriting career and learn the fundamentals of SEO, adapting to a house style and following briefs
  • Someone who has an interest in the operational as well as the more creative side of marketing
  • Someone who is proactive and enthusiastic with a can‑do attitude
  • Someone who loves to learn and develop new skills
  • Someone with great attention to detail
  • Someone who is organised, able to juggle multiple projects and work to deadlines
  • Someone with strong communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills

  • Someone with a love for travel and exploring the world. An interest in scuba diving would be a bonus but isn’t required

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • The receipt of satisfactory references prior to the start date
  • The completion of an initial three‑month probationary period

THE TEAM

The successful candidate will report to the Content Manager. The wider Marketing Team consists of a Marketing Director, Head of PR and Social Media, Website Marketing Manager, Senior CRM Executive, Marketing Copywriter, Marketing Executive, Content Marketing Executive, PR and Social Media Executive, and is supported by the Director of Brand.
