Job Overview
Triumph, a revered name in the motorcycle industry, seeking a skilled and passionate Simulation Engineer industrial placement student to join our team in Hinckley.
The Industrial Placement simulation role is focused on FEA but may also include other simulation such as CFD and 1D analysis. Other tasks may include 3D CAD design work and well as liaising with design teams and internal departments.
Please note: This position is for Undergraduates looking for a Placement Year within their course for the academic year 2027/28 only.

Duties and Responsibilities
This role will develop and test a broad range of skills which will include Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and may also include a variety of subjects such as CFD, 3D CAD design work, and technical drawings. The role involves:
- Undertaking an induction programme and a comprehensive CAD training course (PTC Creo) to give you the skills required for your first projects.
- FEA training will be provided.
- Communicating with other design teams as well as departments such as Purchasing, Quality, Assembly, and Manufacturing.
- Working with IMechE accredited MPDS (Monitored Professional Development Scheme) and Chartered mentors to support your progress.
Requirements for the Role
- Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Self-motivated and resilient
- Flexible and adaptable
- Able to take instruction and work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Open only to university students studying an engineering-related degree seeking a student placement for the academic year 2027/28
