The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring that all paint and coating products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves testing raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, as well as supporting compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished paint products
- Conduct laboratory tests such as viscosity, density, gloss, colour matching, drying time, adhesion, and durability
- Approve or reject batches based on test results and specifications
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained
- Accurately record test data and maintain quality documentation
- Investigate and report non-conformances, defects, or deviations
- Assist in handling complaints, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external standards (e.g., ISO)
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment
- Work closely with production, R&D, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues
Skills Required:
- Background in chemistry, materials science, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Understanding of quality control and assurance principles
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic IT skills (data entry, spreadsheets, lab systems)
