The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring stock integrity, and supporting efficient warehouse operations.

This role plays a critical part in minimising discrepancies, improving stock control processes, and supporting operational performance through data analysis and system optimisation.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability of stock.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records within inventory systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits in line with company procedures.
  • Investigate, report, and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Manage and control damaged or obsolete stock, ensuring minimal financial impact.
  • Generate regular inventory reports and provide insights on stock trends.
  • Analyse inventory data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Support decision-making by providing accurate stock-related information.
  • Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure stock availability aligns with business needs.
  • Support goods-in and goods-out processes to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Assist with optimising pick faces and warehouse walk routes to improve efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within inventory and warehouse operations.
  • Assist with system enhancements, automation, and the effective use of inventory management tools (e. g. D365).
  • Ensure correct use of inventory systems and processes by relevant teams.
  • Ensure all inventory processes comply with company policies and health & safety regulations.
  • Promote best practices in storage, handling, and stock control

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel (D365 preferred).
