Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality care by ensuring compliance with the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a culture of safety for both patients and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Monitor and maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning and assist in team building activities.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested and identify own professional growth opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must hold a valid RN license.
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of 3x12.0 hours.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
